Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Using Smart Lists for quick and easy reminders
We talk a lot about Smart Lists on our blog: they’re very handy in a seemingly endless variety of ways, and they can show you a very specific set of tasks. However, they can also be used to add a specific type of task very quickly as demonstrated in this week’s tip, shared by nodonovan.
When I’m at work I often contact someone by phone or email and need a simple way to make a note to see if I’ve heard back from them in 1, 2 or 4 weeks time. I have set up Smart Lists simply called 1 WEEK, 2 WEEKS, and 4 WEEKS using the search:
list:Work AND tag:waiting AND due:“1 week”
(or 2 weeks etc).
All I then have to do is enter a new task in the appropriate task list and job done. To view all the tasks I am waiting on, I just look in my ‘waiting’ tag.
