Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Review your most-postponed tasks with an advanced sort
Especially for the procrastinators among us, sometimes it can be good to take a look at those tasks you just haven’t completed in some time. Using an advanced sort, kathryn.robinson shares a tip walking you through finding your most-postponed tasks so you can take care of them one way or another. That’ll help keep your lists nice and tidy!
I tend to postpone certain tasks over and over in a vain attempt to avoid them. To address that I occasionally schedule some time to face those tasks head on. I do this by using an Advanced Sort.
When in the desired task list where the often-avoided tasks are buried, click on the gear for the Sort drop-down and choose “Advanced”, then “New” and use these settings:
• 1st sort by: Postponed, descending
• 2nd sort by: Priority, ascending
Your list will be sorted with the most-avoided task at the top. If you are curious, you can see just how many times you have postponed a task by clicking the small case “i” near the upper right corner when viewing task details.
My worst one today was postponed 24 times…
