Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Repeating tasks for routine chores
Routine tasks seem like an easy thing to remember and/or too small a thing to organize for. However, stack a few up—contact lenses, toothbrush, skincare and makeup—and it can be hard to keep track of it all!
This week’s tip, shared by mighty_falcon, shows an easy way to keep these deadlines in mind just in time for bed!
Whether you’re a new user or have been using Remember The Milk for a long time, this is a good reminder of using it to make life a fair bit smoother.
Everyone who uses contacts knows how easy it is to go over the recommended time of wear for each pair of contacts. I think this is more of a problem for those who have bi-weekly or monthly ones, rather than the ones who wear daily ones. Before using RTM I would just try and “guess” when it was time to get change my pair. But now with RTM, it’s pretty simple: just set a repeating reminder for yourself for every two weeks or every month (depending on the contacts you use) and have it remind you right in the morning when you wake up.
Another way RTM could help with contacts is to actually remind you to take them off before going to sleep! I can’t begin to tell you how annoying it is to wake up in the middle of the night and realize that your contacts are still on. I usually forget to take them off when I am out of the ordinary routine (when I am travelling, or on vacation or camping). So whenever I am doing something out of the routine, I set up a reminder to be sent right before going to sleep to save me from not removing my contacts before heading to sleep.
Simple but effective I think. Hope it helps someone :)
