Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Pre-planning to make the most of time and energy
In honor of ADHD Awareness Month we are featuring a few tips for managing ADHD when it comes to your to-do list. (And as with many things ADHD, tips and supports benefit everyone, not just those who have it!)
We talked last week about managing your time by breaking things down and doing some planning/organizing.
When you have a longer-term project or need to make more decisions, it can also help to set yourself up at a separate time so you don’t feel overwhelmed.
For example, we love a tip we shared years ago for managing an entire semester of university work: with a little pre-planning, you can pace yourself from day to day and reduce the decision fatigue of needing to find something to do.
This mindset can also help with times of transition and at the beginning and end of the day, as we featured on our blog earlier this year.
Managing your energy with ADHD can be a key way to ensure you preserve enough to do what you need to in a given day. The less time and energy you need to spend planning, the more you can spend doing!
