Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Organize your recommendations from friends
After a brief summer hiatus, Tips & Tricks Tuesday returns this week!
Getting a recommendation from a friend for a book, a movie or TV show, or some music or podcasts to enjoy is the best! But that doesn’t mean you get to it right away, right? 😅
To help keep track of those choice recommendations, hhmacedo suggests a way to organize everything. Then you’ll make sure to get to them, and be sure to express your gratitude no matter how much time has passed!
Whenever I talk to friends and they suggest a TV show, podcast episode or album, I intend to see, listen or read, but I can’t always do it that week, sometimes postponing for months. When a lot of time goes by, I may end up forgetting who suggested it, which makes feedback difficult. To avoid this, I’ve created a list called “must-” with everything I have to do there, whether it’s suggested by someone I know or because I’ve seen it somewhere. If it was a friend who suggested it, I mark with the tag “suggested” and in “Notes” I put the person who suggested it to me.
I also use emojis in the tasks to more easily identify what each thing is, according to the list below:
🎞️ movies or series
💿 albums
🎙️ podcast episodes
📄 journal articles
📖 books
