Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Monitoring warranties with tasks' due dates
Product warranties are effective ways to make sure you can enjoy reliable products. If you do have a problem though, it’s good to watch the end dates of those warranties. This week, remigiusz.franek suggests making a list of your warranties and their end dates so you can take full advantage if you have a problem with any.
For many products, after you buy them you have two years of product warranty. It is quite useful to have a reminder to check at least one month or two weeks before the warranty period ends whether everything is okay with your product. If something needs to be replaced or fixed, it is last time to do it.
So, you can create a special list for “Warranty Ending Products”. It could be dedicated list or it is possible to use a tag like .warranty with the due date set to be some period (I use one month) before the warranty ends.
The second usage of this list is a very simple but very helpful view of products which soon should be replaced with another one, or sold, or have the warranty extended.
