Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Keeping track of 'free trial' periods -- and remembering to cancel!

If you find yourself signing up for a variety of free trials or have anything that requires a renewal, this week’s tip should help: chashmish shares a tip for keeping track of any trials or renewals that require some action so you don’t forget!

I find RTM to be a very useful tool to keep track of my subscriptions - specifically for “free trial” periods (e.g., AccuWeather Premium, LinkedIn Premium, etc.). I had a bad habit of forgetting to cancel my free trials until after the trial end date had passed, and my card was already charged for the first month.

And that’s where RTM comes in! Now, anytime I enroll in a trial subscription, I add a ‘Cancel xyz’ task to RTM with a 'subscription’ tag. I set the due date to the day before my trial/subscription is over. This helps me remember to log into the website and cancel my subscription if I don’t like the service.

I also find this useful for subscription renewals - like remembering to renew domains.

Thanks for sharing this tip, chashmish! You’re our Tips & Tricks Tuesday winner this week.
