Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Keeping a pantry list

It’s great to have a complete grocery list but what if you forget about what you have in your refrigerator? This week’s tip, shared by thisjones, suggests keeping a list of your groceries so you make sure to eat everything before they expire.

I have a bad habit of coming home, placing my groceries in the fridge and pantry, and promptly forgetting about them until it’s time to clean out the area. Thankfully I have Remember The Milk to help me with this bad habit!

When I get home and start putting away the groceries, I make note of the meals that I can make with what I have and what I’ve purchased. I start adding these meals to my Remember The Milk list. If the meal includes a fresh ingredient that will go bad more quickly, it gets a top priority added to it.

When it’s time to plan my week, I can pull up this list wherever I am and I don’t have to go diving in the pantry to see what I have. This list saves me time and money, since I’m using my groceries and not tossing them out.

Thanks for sharing this tip, thisjones! You’re our Tips & Tricks Tuesday winner this week.
