Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Keep an ongoing log just with notes and task names
Your tasks can help keep you productive from day to day as you have things coming up, but can they also help keep a log of what you’ve already done.
This week’s tip is a team effort, with birrellwalsh and antoinebugleboy each providing an interesting way to keep track of things, whether in notes or task names.
From birrellwalsh:
I have found the notes to a repeated task to be very useful. To my delight, the notes for all the instances are ganged together so they become a log of what I have done on that task. I thought others might want to try it.
From antoinebugleboy:
Here’s another idea for keeping a log, instead of using notes:
Have the task repeat after completion, and change the task name each time you complete it. E.g., “Keep track of weight - 180.0”
Then have a Smart List that searches for the first portion of the task name, i.e., “keep track of weight,” in my example, and look at the completed tasks. You’ll have a nice log on the screen right there. :)
