Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Getting some productive movement in your day
Staying active regularly is very helpful for your energy throughout the day. So is keeping up with quick tasks. Cue evan.fredericks’s novel tip: tagging tasks so you can do them when you get up or move around for a quick break.
Whenever I try to set up a system to get myself to move more (such as reminders on a fitness tracker), I often find myself ignoring them because I’m “too busy.”
One thing that’s helped is to have a way to quickly look at what tasks I have that involve moving around. These can be as simple as taking out the trash or filling my water bottle.
Whenever I make a task that involves me getting up from my desk, I tag it with “move” and have a Smart List that searches for this tag along with the appropriate due/start date filters. Then, if my fitness tracker tells me I haven’t moved in a while, I jump to that list and see what quick item I can knock off to kill two birds with one stone!
