Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Focusing on that one task you don't want to do

Bob T. Monkey contemplates his 'frog' for the day

We all have those tasks we don’t want to do—we postpone them, we procrastinate, we get them done… eventually, right? In this week’s tip, mcaneted takes a Mark Twain proverb and turns it into a way to get unpleasant tasks done quickly!

There is a quote from Mark Twain that says:

“If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.”

It means we all have that one thing (sometimes two) in our list that we know we have to tick off, but is just too hard or boring to begin. So, we normally procrastinate on it, making us feel stressed for not doing it.

The advice is to spot that nasty task (I have a special “frog” tag for it) and just do it first thing in the morning. After that, your day will continue with you feeling happy and liberated.

Hope you find this useful.
