Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Don't take your tasks on vacation!
Holiday time should (hopefully!) mean a break from your tasks. To make sure your vacation is as task-free as possible, try this tip from dominikhajduk, and get your tasks organized before your trip!
I want to share my idea for how to not miss any important things during your holiday time. For me, summer vacation means a rest from work. I’m not checking my work email, calendar, etc. But it doesn’t mean that I don’t have to pay bills on time and do other things like that. This year, I added to my Smart Lists one new list: “Holiday time”. It looks something like this:dueAfter:"Aug 1, 2015" AND dueBefore:"Aug 17, 2015" AND NOT tag:holidays
It filter all tasks between my planned trip dates and not related to holidays (tag #holidays). Two or three weeks before, I check this list and try do as many things as possible to have a free mind during my holidays. Recurring charges and bills I can pay a week earlier (easy using my private computer and internet bank account). Planned tasks I can postpone, do before my holidays, or at least prepare better to do them faster during my holidays.
