iPhone app update: Badge updates with Push Notifications, new languages, and making your iPhone "moo"
The latest version of the Remember The Milk app is now available on the App Store – yay! Read on to learn what’s new in version 1.1.1.
Badge updates

The app badge is a handy way to know how many tasks need your attention: it can show the number of tasks due today, or total number of incomplete tasks. Until now, this number could only count the number of tasks on your iPhone; if you’d added tasks to the web app (or one of our many other services :), or someone sent you a new task, or if you simply hadn’t launched the app that day, this number could be out-of-date.
With Push Notifications, we can now instantly update the badge number on your iPhone or iPod touch whenever it needs to change. Added a task online? No problem, we’ll push out an update straight to your device. Bob sent a task reminding you to buy bananas? That’s okay, we’ll add that to your task count. We’ll also send your device an updated number each day at midnight (your time) to make sure you have an up-to-date count of tasks due today. To change your preference for the app badge, visit the Settings screen in the app.
New languages
We love making the app available in as many languages as possible, and we’re happy to add Czech and Greek to the 17 languages already supported. This app version also updates the localizations for Danish, Finnish, Russian and Spanish. Interested in helping to make the app available in your language? We’d really appreciate any help – please check out our online translation program.
Making your iPhone “moo”
We mentioned a silly bug in version 1.1.0 that prevented the Push Notification alerts from having sound. Not only has this issue been fixed, but you can now choose between multiple sounds: from a boring ol’ iPhone alert sound to a musical cow bell, or, yes, even a “moo”. To change your preference, just visit the Settings screen in the app.

We hope you enjoy these updates! Want to learn more about the app in general? Check out the Remember The Milk for iPhone & iPod touch section of the site.
