Tips & Tricks Tuesday

Welcome to the very first Tips & Tricks Tuesday! This is going to be a weekly spot where I’ll bring to you some of the most useful Remember The Milk tips and tricks that have been posted on the forums by our wonderful users. If you’re looking for ways to get the most out of your RTM account, stay tuned. Also, keep reading for info on how you can score a free Pro account just by sharing your own tips (or tricks). :)

I thought we’d kick things off with advanced search operators – sounds technical, but it really isn’t. The “Useful searches” topic on the forum is one of the best to check out if you’re just starting with RTM. These search operators are handy, not only when you’re trying to find random bits of info, but they also work by creating a base query for the creation of a Smart List (which we’ll be looking at further in the coming weeks).

Here are some of our favourite search operators (try them by pasting the term into the search box in the upper right hand corner of the RTM website) :

Overdue tasks - dueBefore:today
Tasks due this week (including overdue tasks) - dueWithin:“1 week of today” OR dueBefore:today
Tasks due this calendar month - dueWithin:“1 month of 1st”
Tasks with no due date - due:never
Tasks that haven’t been tagged - isTagged:false
