Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Domain watching

If you own your own internet domain name, you’ll know that it can be hard to keep track of any renewal dates, often a year or more from when you register them.

This week’s tip, shared by b3njamin, suggests using tasks to be reminded of expiring domains you want to purchase and billing dates of domains you already own.

Although my GoDaddy account auto-renews all my domains, it’s still handy to have an annually repeating event to show billing days. But the main priority for me is to add expiry dates of domains I’m interested in poaching if the current owner no longer wants them. I simply added a new list (‘Domains’) and then added events for each domain I’m interested in. I made them due on the expiry date, which can be grabbed from a simple Whois lookup (http://who.is for example).
