Introducing MilkScript

We’re thrilled to share that MilkScript is here! One of those features we’ve dreamed about for a long time, MilkScript lets you create scripts to automate certain actions, whether you want to create a series of tasks, to act on existing tasks, or to generate information based on your tasks.

MilkScript is available exclusively for Pro users.

How it works

You write and use code in modern JavaScript and have access to a built-in library that allows you to work right in your Remember The Milk account. There’s nothing to install—we give you a code editor right in the web/desktop app, and your scripts run on our servers.

You can create and work with almost anything in your account: tasks, lists, tags, Smart Lists, locations, contacts, notes. You can also fetch and work with remote data too.

Getting Started

If you’re familiar with JavaScript, you can use our built-in editor to dive in with our built-in library.

Or you can browse any of our quickstart scripts to get up and running in less than five minutes, including:

  • Star/Unstar tasks: Helps you mark tasks starred.
  • Monthly stats: Generates your monthly task statistics.
  • Tasks from note: Adds lists, tasks, and notes from a template.

And you can learn more about JavaScript with courses like these from Codecademy.

Make It So!

You can run your MilkScripts at any time, or you can use our IFTTT and Zapier integrations to trigger a MilkScript to run remotely. 😎

As with everything, we’d love to know how you’re using MilkScript! If you have any problems or questions, or just want to share some cool scripts and details, please contact us! In the meantime you can find more details on our MilkScript page.
