Scheduled maintenance [complete]

We'll be doing some maintenance this weekend to perform an upgrade that will increase capacity. RTM will be down for up to three hours today (Sunday), starting at 2:45pm Sydney time (view in your timezone). I'll post again here once we're done — thanks for your patience! :)
Tip: You might be aware that you can use RTM with Google Gears to manage your tasks while offline. Provided you have it set up prior to our scheduled maintenance, you can use this feature to manage your tasks while RTM is offline too — your changes during this period will be synchronized when RTM returns from maintenance.
Update 6:15PM Sydney time: The hardware hamsters* have done our bidding, and the upgrade is complete. Thanks for waiting, everyone!
Update 8:45PM Sydney time: We spoke too soon! We're just working out some kinks in the new system to get performance back to normal again. Sorry everyone!
Update 9:45PM Sydney time: Erm, that didn't go quite as smoothly as planned, but everything's good now. Maybe we'll stick with the ninjas next time.
*The usual ninjas were on vacation, but I'm assured that the hamsters know their stuff.

The site is temporarily unavailable due to some hardware issues, and we're working to get everything back up and running again as quickly as possible. Sorry to everyone for the inconvenience — I'll post once this is resolved.

Network problems [resolved]

It looks like our primary data center is currently experiencing some network problems, making the site unavailable. Sorry to everyone for the inconvenience — we'll post once this is resolved.
Update 11:20AM Sydney time: And we're back! We're awaiting full details on the problem that the data center experienced, but the main thing is we're back up now. :)

A little slow today…

You may have noticed that RTM isn't being its usual zippy self this morning. We currently have a highly trained team of ninjas working to track down the source of the slowness; I'll post once I have an update from them.
In the meantime, I apologise to anyone affected by this issue; we appreciate your patience while the ninjas work to get this sorted out.
Update 3:35AM Sydney time: We need to take the site offline for a few minutes while we work to get things back up to normal speed. Thanks for your continued patience!

Update 4:15AM Sydney time: We're back! Our systems have been given a swift kick (or two), and we're keeping a watchful eye to make sure everything runs smoothly once again.

Network problems [resolved]

A number of network carriers around the US have been experiencing problems today, unfortunately causing some issues with connections to our primary data center. This means you might experience trouble loading RTM, depending on your location and the route that your Internet connection decides to take to our servers.
Our network provider is doing everything they can to work around the dodgy bits in the Internet, and we're working with them to fully restore access to RTM as soon as possible — I'll update this post once this is resolved.
Update 2:25AM Sydney time: It looks like the network issues are clearing up, and things should be back to normal for everyone shortly. Thanks for your patience!

Update 5:00PM Sydney time: We're back! It took a little longer than expected. Thanks to an unfortunate series of events, as we were bringing the site back up, our office lost both its primary and backup Internet connections… doh! After relocating so we could access the Internet (and the RTM servers!) again, we were able to complete the maintenance. Thanks again for your patience!

Twittering again

Some users of Remember The Milk for Twitter, particularly those new to the feature, may have experienced a frustrating problem with sending messages to rtm on Twitter over the past few weeks.
Messages sent via Twitter weren't making it through to our side for some users (making it impossible to add tasks), as Twitter would insist that you needed to follow rtm first, even when you were already following it!
We're happy to say that the Twitter folks have now fixed the issue — thanks Alex, Crystal, Blaine, and the rest of the team! :) I know that a whole bunch of RTM users have been patiently waiting for this feature to work for their Twitter accounts, so please feel free to try it out again now if you've been experiencing difficulties recently.
