Tips & Tricks Tuesday: Fast input for tasks using snippets

Tuesday, December 14, 2010 by Andrew Conkling

If you send a lot of tasks by email, this week's tip, shared by jans.roeber, may interest you; it provides a quick way to supply a task's properties to send via email.

For the fast entry of task via email I've created a snippet called "rrtm" in TextExpander (Mac) and Breevy (PC) that opens a form to be filled out as a system-wide shortcut.

The form provides all relevant fields to be filled out in order to create a task in RTM. For TextExpander, the snippet looks like this:

%fill:Task% at %fill:DayDate% 9am !1 *weekly =15min #%fill:context%

The string "9am !1 *weekly =15min" is to be either deleted or overwritten with the applicable data.

Thanks for sharing this tip, jans.roeber! You're our Tips & Tricks Tuesday winner this week.
