RTM in The Australian

There's an article about RTM in The Australian today — big thanks to Ed Charles for writing about us! :) If you're interested, you can read the article online here.

(And yes, that's my co-founder Omar in the shopping trolley.)

Welcome, Arvid!

Arvid hard at work

Those of you who frequent the forums may have noticed a newly designated Remember The Milk team member — a fellow who goes by the name 'arvid'.

Arvid resides in The Netherlands and is a big supporter of Remember The Milk, helping to make the service available in Dutch. Arvid enjoys travelling the seven seas, and tells us that Ben & Jerry's icecream is definitely something you can wake him up for.

Arvid is helping us out as a support engineer in his spare time.

Welcome to the team, Arvid!

Network problems [resolved]

Friday, August 22, 2008 by Emily Boyd

It looks like our primary data center is currently experiencing some network problems, making the site unavailable. Sorry to everyone for the inconvenience — we'll post once this is resolved.

Update 11:20AM Sydney time: And we're back! We're awaiting full details on the problem that the data center experienced, but the main thing is we're back up now. :)

Twitter SMS changes

Thursday, August 14, 2008 by Emily Boyd

You may have heard that, starting today, Twitter is no longer delivering outbound SMS to users outside of the USA, Canada, and India (for the full story, you can read Twitter's announcement on their blog).

If you're using RTM for Twitter outside of the above countries, this means it's unfortunately no longer possible to receive direct messages from rtm via Twitter SMS (meaning that you won't receive reminders or responses to commands that you send rtm). This functionality will continue working via Twitter's other interfaces, just not SMS.

Regardless of where you live, you'll still be able to add and update your RTM tasks by sending SMS to Twitter (as inbound SMS is unaffected).

Twitter are continuing to negotiate with mobile operators around the world, aiming to provide full two-way service via SMS in additional countries. Thanks to the terrific folks at Twitter for all their hard work!

A little slow today…

Tuesday, August 5, 2008 by Emily Boyd

You may have noticed that RTM isn't being its usual zippy self this morning. We currently have a highly trained team of ninjas working to track down the source of the slowness; I'll post once I have an update from them.

In the meantime, I apologise to anyone affected by this issue; we appreciate your patience while the ninjas work to get this sorted out.

Update 3:35AM Sydney time: We need to take the site offline for a few minutes while we work to get things back up to normal speed. Thanks for your continued patience!

Update 4:00AM Sydney time: The ninjas need 15 more minutes… sorry everyone!

Update 4:15AM Sydney time: We're back! Our systems have been given a swift kick (or two), and we're keeping a watchful eye to make sure everything runs smoothly once again.
