Add the cow on your iPhone/iPod touch

RTM cow on iPod touch

Are you using Remember The Milk for iPhone and iPod touch? Have you got the latest software update for your iPhone/iPod touch (the one with the new Web Clip feature)? If you answered "yes" to both, you can now add RTM to the home screen on your device.

Just go to http://i.rememberthemilk.com/ on your iPhone/iPod touch, tap the plus sign, and then tap "Add to Home Screen". You'll now have the RTM cow on your home screen, and RTM will only ever be a tap away. :)

Scheduled maintenance

Friday, February 8, 2008 by Omar Kilani

Remember The Milk will be down for a brief period of scheduled maintenance tomorrow (Saturday) night, starting at 7:15pm Sydney time (view in your timezone). The site will be down for up to 45 minutes while we replace some important hardware. Thanks for your patience during this time!

Tip: You might be aware that you can use RTM with Google Gears to manage your tasks while offline. Provided you have it set up prior to our scheduled maintenance, you can use this feature to manage your tasks while RTM is offline too — your changes during this period will be synchronized when RTM returns from maintenance.

Update 8:00PM Sydney time: Maintenance is complete!

Update 8:30PM Sydney time (Sunday): We've had to take the site offline for another brief period of maintenance today to upgrade hardware. We'll post as soon as we're back.

Update 9:15PM Sydney time (Sunday): And we're back! Thanks for your patience during our maintenance this weekend.

Loading speed improvements

Thursday, February 7, 2008 by Omar Kilani

We're constantly working to optimize our code and make sure that Remember The Milk is as fast and responsive as possible. This week we've been tweaking a few things; the RTM loading process wasn't as quick as it could be, so we made some changes that should dramatically shorten the time it takes to load the web app.

We hope that this helps you to get to managing your tasks just that little bit faster. :) As always, if you ever feel that something in the RTM system isn't running as fast as you'd like, don't hesitate to let us know.

Remember The Milk at Future of Web Apps

Thursday, February 7, 2008 by Emily Boyd

We're thrilled to be attending Future of Web Apps in Miami later this month, and I'm particularly excited because I get to speak about Remember The Milk! :)

Future of Web Apps

There's a fantastic line-up of speakers from companies that we admire (including Google, Flickr, Wordpress, and Twitter, to name just a few), so I'm honoured to be representing RTM.

If you'll be attending Future of Web Apps, we'd love to hear from you :)

Taking photos of stuffed monkeys

Thursday, February 7, 2008 by Emily Boyd

I often carry RTM mascot Bob T. Monkey around with me, and pose him for photos when the opportunity arises (which gets me strange looks from those around me… am I weird or something?). So I was delighted when RTM user Beau sent me a link to this cute AT&T ad — I totally identify with the guy in the ad! Maybe going around photographing a stuffed monkey isn't so unusual after all…
