Bob goes to Google Developer Day
Thursday, May 31, 2007 by Emily Boyd
The entire Remember The Milk team (both of us and the monkey) headed down to the Australian Technology Park this morning for Google Developer Day 2007. Over 400 developers attended the event and some really awesome tech was announced.
RTM was one of six finalists in the "Speed Geeking" competition — we demonstrated how we use Google Maps to visualise tasks, as well as our iGoogle gadget and Google Calendar integration.
Unfortunately, Bob wasn't able to pull off a victory in this competition (he's just one small monkey, after all), but his talents as a world-class code monkey were recognised by his fellow developers, and he was very happy to go home with his finalist award.
Get the milk faster than ever!
Thursday, May 10, 2007 by Omar Kilani
As our user base has grown to more than 200,000 users, we've worked hard over the past 1.5 years to ensure that Remember The Milk always loads as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, the load times haven't been as fast as we'd like over the last couple of months, but with a lot of quality profiling time, a complete overhaul of our loading process, our recent upgrade and today's performance focused updates, you'll find your initial start up a lot lighter and 2-20x faster (depending on how many tasks you have and how close you are to our servers :), and subsequent loads should be almost instantaneous.
As always, if you ever feel that something in the RTM system isn't running as fast as you'd like, don't hesitate to let us know.

Gadget improvements
Monday, May 7, 2007 by Emily Boyd
We love gadgets here at Remember The Milk: we've created gadgets for iGoogle (formerly Google Personalized Homepage), Google Calendar, and Netvibes. These gadgets are a great way to review and manage your upcoming tasks.
What's new?
We're happy to introduce a much requested feature: you can now customise your gadget to display tasks from a particular list or Smart List. Using a Smart List, you can set your gadget to display tasks based on criteria that you define (for example, tasks with certain priorities, tags, lists, locations, etc).
You can also add multiple RTM gadgets to iGoogle, and customise them to display different tasks — one might show your high priority work tasks, while another might show your errands.
Ready to customise?
This feature is available now for all iGoogle users, and we'll be making it available for Google Calendar and Netvibes users over the coming week. To customise your RTM gadget, click on 'Settings' in the top right corner of the gadget. You can then choose the list or Smart List to display tasks from. Enjoy!
Bob's CeBIT Adventure
Friday, May 4, 2007 by Emily Boyd
This week's been an exciting one for RTM mascot Bob T. Monkey: he attended CeBIT Australia in Darling Harbour. Bob spent time networking with fellow company mascots, made a bunch of new friends, and managed to get himself into some interesting situations…
