Use Remember The Milk from your phone
Friday, May 26, 2006 by Emily Boyd
How many times have you walked into the supermarket and realised that you've not only forgotten your shopping list, but everything that was on it?
Never again! You can now access your Remember The Milk lists wherever you are with our new mobile-friendly version at http://m.rememberthemilk.com/
(Admittedly, if you forget to take your phone to the supermarket, we can't help you right now -- Remember The Milk telepathic edition coming soon!)
Sounds cool... so what can I do with it?
You can use the Remember The Milk mobile version from your web-enabled mobile device to:
- View upcoming tasks (due today, tomorrow, and this week)
- View tasks by list or tag
- Add new tasks and notes
- Complete or postpone tasks with the press of a button
- Edit existing tasks and notes
- Search tasks (supports advanced search operators)
- View handy settings (such as your Inbox email address)
We love keyboard shortcuts here at Remember The Milk, so we've made sure you can get around the mobile version quickly by pressing the 0 to 9 keys on your device's keypad.

So next time you're stuck on the bus and suddenly think of something you need to add to your task list, or find yourself in the supermarket sans shopping list, rest assured that you can always fire up your phone's browser and access Remember The Milk (as demonstrated by Bob T. below).

Gadu-Gadu reminders now supported
Friday, May 19, 2006 by Emily Boyd
Earlier today we received an email from Krzysztof in Poland. Krzysztof and many of his friends use Remember The Milk, and he asked if we could provide Gadu-Gadu reminders (Gadu-Gadu is the most popular instant messaging service in Poland).
So, we got to work. To make things more challenging, the documentation and the Gadu-Gadu program itself are only available in Polish. After some trial and error ("Hmm, I wonder what 'Anuluj' means?" [presses button] "Oh, I guess it means 'Cancel'"), we're happy to announce that we now support Gadu-Gadu alongside AIM, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN and Yahoo! reminders.
Krzysztof and the rest of our Polish users can enable Gadu-Gadu reminders under Settings / Reminders. Enjoy!
Announcing the Remember The Milk API
Friday, May 12, 2006 by Omar Kilani
Over the last couple of months, we've been quietly working away on some new additions to the Remember The Milk service. We're excited to announce today that the Remember The Milk API is now ready for public use.
The API allows developers to write applications that interact with our service -- which means that desktop widgets, start page modules, mobile applications and much more can now be created for Remember The Milk.
Instead of re-inventing the wheel, we've taken inspiration from the Flickr API and have made it as easy as possible for developers familiar with it to utilize the Remember The Milk API.
We've implemented 45 methods spanning the majority of Remember The Milk functionality and we'll be expanding the coverage of the API over the coming months. We've setup a mailing list for developer discussion, and we'd love feedback on how we can improve the API.
We'd also love to hear any suggestions from users -- is there a particular widget you'd like to see, or would you like your favourite software to interact with Remember The Milk in some way?
We look forward to seeing how developers take advantage of the API. Happy hacking :)
Show tasks on your calendar (part 2)
Thursday, May 11, 2006 by Emily Boyd
We recently added the ability to view your tasks with calendar software -- it turns out this feature is a popular one!
We've now made it a little easier to subscribe to your tasks, and have added detailed instructions (with screenshots) to our help section. If you're looking for instructions for your software, please see:
Site updates
In other site news, we've been doing some spring cleaning (it's autumn here in Australia, but we didn't let that stop us!). In addition to tidying up the site's content, we added a search feature which should make it easier to find what you're looking for amongst the 100+ help pages. If you have 15 minutes to spare during your lunch break, we'd suggest checking out the help section -- there's a whole bunch of hidden features in Remember The Milk, and they're all detailed there :)
