Highlights of 2006

It's been a busy year for the Remember The Milk team, and we thought we'd end the year by sharing some of our favourite happenings from 2006. Our 10 highlights, in no particular order:

Remember The Milk for Google Calendar

Our recently added new feature brought Remember The Milk and Google Calendar together, making it possible to manage your tasks from your calendar. It was one of the most popular new features of 2006, along with…

Google Personalized Homepage gadget

Much like the Google Calendar feature, the gadget lets you add your tasks to Google Personalized Homepage (so you'll never escape from forget your tasks).

Mobile-friendly version

Not near a computer? In May, we launched our mobile version so that you can access your Remember The Milk lists wherever you are.

Instant messenger reminders

We were thrilled to be able to add support for Skype and Gadu-Gadu reminders (they joined AIM, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN and Yahoo! in our list of supported IM networks).

Locate your tasks

One of our favourite additions of 2006. Built on the very cool Google Maps, the Locations feature allows you to see where your tasks are located in the real world.

Speaking your language

In July, we launched our first eight localized versions (Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Dutch, UK English, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish). We added four more languages (Bosnian, German, Swedish, and Turkish) shortly after, then another five languages in October (Czech, Italian, Korean, Polish, and Russian). Thanks to all our translation volunteers — we love you!

Tagging, searching, and smart lists

Some of the early features we added this year made Remember The Milk much more powerful (and we couldn't really be web 2.0 without tagging, could we?).

Birthday #1

We celebrated our first birthday in October (Bob got to eat cake!).

API launch

We launched the Remember The Milk API in May. It allows outside developers to write applications that interact with our service, and the developer mailing list is full of people doing just that.

Meeting our users

We had some great opportunities to talk about Remember The Milk at various events this year, and our favourite part was meeting some of our users. We hope we'll get to meet more of you in 2007!

The team here at Remember The Milk would like to wish everyone a happy and organized New Year :)

Surrounded by milk

Emily was recently surrounded by many bottles and cartons of milk, placed in front of a camera, and photographed. So I thought it was only natural to attempt to share said photo with everyone:
