Four new languages available
Monday, July 31, 2006 by Emily Boyd
Thanks to our wonderful translation volunteers, Remember The Milk is now available in:
Bosnian, German, Swedish, and Turkish
(You can change your language preference on the Settings screen in your account.)
As with the first eight languages that we announced, Remember The Milk understands due dates and input in these languages — so you can enter Monday, ponedjeljak, Montag, måndag, or Pazartesi.
Your language not available yet?
If you have some spare time and would like to help make Remember The Milk available in your language, please feel free to sign up for our online translation program (you can translate as little or as much as you'd like).

Please RSVP via email to rsvp (at) sydphp.org if you're able to attend (see the meeting details for the rough agenda). Drinks and snacks are optionally available for a flat $5 fee.
Hope to see you there!
Skype reminders now supported
Sunday, July 23, 2006 by Emily Boyd
Furthering our never-ending quest to support reminders for every instant messenger service on Earth, we've added support for Skype reminders (text reminders, not voice at this stage — although we did toy with the idea of teaching Bob T. how to make Skype calls so he could do the reminders for us).
Skype joins AIM, Gadu-Gadu, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN and Yahoo! in the list of IM networks that we support (if we're missing your network, please let us know!). You can enable reminders for any of these services under Settings / Reminders.

Update: Thanks to the official (Japanese) Skype blog for posting about us!
DoCoMo i-mode now supported
Tuesday, July 18, 2006 by Emily Boyd
Welcome to those who have discovered that Remember The Milk speaks their language (unfortunately our blog is still English-only, but we'll work on that :)
After launching our multi-lingual service last week, we received many emails from users in Japan who were disappointed that the mobile version of Remember The Milk didn't work on their i-mode phones.
We're happy to announce that the mobile version now supports DoCoMo i-mode phones, and we've improved support for other phones in Japan. You can try it out at http://m.rememberthemilk.com/ — please let us know if you experience any problems accessing the mobile version from your phone.
We'd like to thank Yuki for helping us to test i-mode support, and Yoshio for sending us this great photo of Remember The Milk on his phone!

Remember The Milk speaks your language
Saturday, July 8, 2006 by Emily Boyd
Over the past month, hundreds of volunteers have been working towards translating Remember The Milk into over 40 languages. We're excited to announce the availability of the first eight languages, with more to follow shortly — Remember The Milk is now available in:
Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Dutch, UK English, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish
(You can change your language preference on the Settings screen in your account.)
We'd like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the volunteers who've been helping with translation — it's been a pleasure working with so many wonderful people located all around the world.
Monday, 星期一, maandag, lundi, 月曜日, segunda, lunes
One of our favourite features of Remember The Milk is its ability to understand English — there's no need to look up dates on your calendar, as you can simply tell us that your task is due tomorrow, friday at 5pm, next wednesday, or in 3 weeks. But what about languages other than English?
We've been busy teaching Remember The Milk to understand new languages (that might sound challenging, but it was nowhere near as hard as teaching a stuffed monkey to program in JavaScript!). If your language preference is set to Spanish (for example), you can tell us that your task is due mañana, el viernes a las 5pm, el próximo miércoles, or en 3 semanas.

So whether you say Monday, 星期一, maandag, lundi, 月曜日, segunda, or lunes, Remember The Milk speaks your language.
Getting Things Done with Remember The Milk
Monday, July 3, 2006 by Emily Boyd
Tatsuya Yamaji has a great article in Business Mobile (Japanese only) on using Remember The Milk with David Allen's Getting Things Done or GTD time management method. For those interested in GTD, some of our users have also been posting some helpful tips and tricks about GTD on the forum.
In other news, the site was recently featured as Website of the Day on Radio 2, so a warm welcome to those BBC listeners who are new to Remember The Milk!
