Feature updates

Tuesday, December 13, 2005 by Emily Boyd

Here's what we've been busy adding this week…

Shorter email addresses

When we created the feature for adding tasks via email, one of our big concerns was ensuring that spam wouldn't appear in to-do lists (hey, we didn't want to invent task spam!). We gave everyone unique, 40 character email addresses — but soon discovered that these were too long for many mobile phone address books. By popular demand, we've now created shorter email addresses. You can find yours in Settings/Info (the old addresses will continue to work too).

Import lists via email

Have a long list of tasks that you want to send into Remember The Milk? You can now import multiple tasks in one email. Learn more.

Set your daily reminder time

One of Remember The Milk's handy features is the daily reminder, which lists your upcoming tasks. Daily reminders are sent out at midnight each night, but if this isn't the most convenient time for you (say this happens to be during your beauty sleep), you can now tell us what time we should send your reminders. Learn more.

And more…

  • The weekly planner now shows overdue tasks under 'Overdue'
  • Priorities are now displayed in the print feature
  • The print feature is now available in the 'completed tasks' view
  • iCalendar feeds now include notes for each task
  • Atom feeds now include notes for each task
  • Plus many small bug fixes…

We've added support for Jabber and Yahoo! Messenger reminders. You can enable these reminder services under Settings / Reminders.

Looks like we now support all instant messaging services! Woohoo!

AIM reminders down

Friday, December 2, 2005 by Emily Boyd

For anyone who has their Remember The Milk account set to send reminders via AIM, unfortunately AIM reminders are down right now (other instant messenger networks are unaffected). We're in touch with AOL, and hope to have this resolved soon.

Update: AIM reminders are working once again. Thanks to the awesome folks at AOL for resolving this so quickly!
